Here's a shocking story of a little boy in South Africa who got married to a woman old enough to be his grandmother; he claimed he was ordered by his ancestors to do so. really?


His name is Sanele Masilela [8 yrs old] and his 'wife's' name is Helen Shabangu.
Helen Shabangu is already married and a mother of five.

The union cost Sanele's family £1,500and they insisted the wedding was only for ritual purpose and not a legal binding.

The boy’s 46-year-old mum Patience said: “Sanele’s grandfather asked him to get married before he died. He chose Helen because he loves her.
“By doing this we made the ancestors happy. If we hadn’t, something bad would have happened in the family.”

Sanele said: “I told my mother I wanted to get married as I really did want to.
“I’m happy that I married Helen. When I’m older I will marry a lady my own age.”

Helen said: “It is what the ancestors wanted.”

The couple swapped rings and kisses at the ceremony but did not sign a marriage certificate and also do not live together.
