BEYONCE fans who have shelled out £82 to see her on tour will be hacked off today as JAY-Z’s missus has been confirmed for the V festival.
Punters at Virgin Media's August festival will only shell out £160 for an
entire weekend of music.
KINGS OF LEON are also headliners – as predicted in my column
yesterday.
EMELI SANDE, OLLY MURS, CALVIN HARRIS, JAMES ARTHUR
and THE COURTEENERS will be in the line-up too.
Here’s a round-up of other summer festivals...
T IN THE PARK: Scotland’s finest music festival in Balado, Kinross, in
July, has big names, including MUMFORD & SONS, RIHANNA and THE
KILLERS.
STEREOPHONICS, CALVIN HARRIS and DIZZEE RASCAL are also
confirmed.
GLASTONBURY: MICHAEL EAVIS is keeping his cards close to his
chest, as ever, but rumoured headliners include THE ROLLING STONES, LADY
GAGA and ARCTIC MONKEYS.
READING/LEEDS: BIFFY CLYRO and EMINEM are the big hitters
this year.
Eminem – the most successful rapper in history – hasn’t played the festivals
in 11 years.
While Biffy have played Reading/Leeds a number of times, they have never
headlined.
FALL OUT BOY are also making a comeback after a hiatus.
The rest of the line-up – including the final headliner – will be announced on
March 11.
ISLE OF WIGHT: THE STONE ROSES, THE KILLERS and BON
JOVI are all spending a weekend in June on the island.
The three heavyweights are on the main stage, while RIZZLE KICKS, EXAMPLE
and BLONDIE all play smaller stages.
COACHELLA: The festival in the Californian desert is a blast from the
Nineties, with BLUR, THE STONE ROSES, PHOENIX and RED
HOT CHILI PEPPERS headlining.
MODEST MOUSE, NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS, and WU-TANG
CLAN all join them at the bash scheduled for April.
BENICASSIM: THE KILLERS certainly have a busy summer ahead.
They’re also off to Spain to headline Beni in July.
They’ll be joined on the main stage by QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, PALMA
VIOLETS, JAKE BUGG and AZEALIA BANKS.
WIRELESS: The London bash sees JAY-Z and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
top the bill.
CALVIN HARRIS and FRANK OCEAN are special guests at the
impressive Olympic Park.
SNOOP DOGG, EMELI SANDE, RITA ORA and KENDRICK LAMAR
will all turn out too.
