BRUTAL police officers in South Africa allegedly beat a taxi driver to death after he parked on the wrong side of the road.

The cabbie, named locally as Mido Macia, was handcuffed to the back of a police van and dragged over 400 metres along a road.

Clinton: poverty fuels North’s violence

Former United States President Bill Clinton yesterday gave an insight into how Nigeria can attain her full potential and bring development to the citizens.

He said Nigeria must strive to overcome her “three big challenges” –
*poor utilisation of oil money,
*bridging the widening gulf between the urban rich and the rural poor and
*making talented Nigerians stay in their country.

He also said violence happens in the North with incredible poverty, compared to the more prosperous cities in the South.

A video footage of a French family believed to be abducted by the violent Islamic sect in Nigeria, Boko Haram, was released yesterday. The kidnappers threatened to wipe the family if their demends were not met.
“The president of France has launched a war on Islam and we are fighting it everywhere,” said one of the apparent kidnappers, speaking in Arabic and identifying himself as a member of Boko Haram. “Implement our demands. If you leave out even one, we will kill these people.”

Inspector Jamiu Adekoya, an Indigene of Ayedun in Oke Ero Local Government area of Kwara State, was honoured with the Nigerian Hero Award at the glamorous event attended by an impressive array of politicians and political leaders, captains of industry, media executives, Nollywood stars and scores of other celebrities.

Inspector Jamiu and his Rapid Response Squad (RRS) patrol team were attacked by daredevil robbers in Lagos on September 12, last year.
The robbers killed two of his colleagues during the incident at Ogba area of the metropolis. Adekoya was severally shot and badly wounded, but even as he lay dying, he managed to unleash a volley of bullets into the head of the retreating gang leader. The bandit died on the spot.
Sixteen bullets were later removed from Adekoya’s abdomen, even as four are still lodged in his system.

OK, this man here somehow got himself locked out of his room in a Hotel. After standing for some time and weighing his options, he decided to make his way down to the reception. This is one Wedding Plan that I'd list as a very daring one!

This couple chose to try out something new when it comes to weddings...and apparently, they came up with a very Shriek-tacular idea...lol

Devoted Paul Bellas, 42, painted himself green and wore monster ears and eyebrows for the movie-themed big day.

Bride Heidi Coxshall, 30, dressed as Shrek's sweetheart Princess Fiona for the couple's wedding - which featured a cast of characters from the animated film.

Their four-year-old son Leo dressed as Donkey, Shrek's best pal, while Heidi's brother John gave her away as Muffin Man from Shrek 2.
Other guests turned up as fairytale characters Snow White, Cinderella and Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

The whole 'Shriek-ish' idea was inspired by Leo's love of Shriek!

Paul said: "Leo was watching his Shrek DVD, which he absolutely loves, and Heidi said wouldn't it be nice if we had a little Shrek wedding.
"The message behind Shrek is that it doesn't matter what you look like or who you are, it's all about true love - I thought it sounded absolutely perfect.

When it comes to weddings, a lot of plans are usually involved. I'm not thinking that now...but I sure do know that people would always wanna make theirs look so different and unique.

THE brother of Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius is ALSO facing trial for allegedly killing a woman, it has emerged.

Carl Pistorius has been charged with culpable homicide over the death of a motorcyclist he is said to have knocked down in his car.
The athlete's older brother had been due to appear in court on Thursday, according to local media reports in South Africa, but instead was at Oscar's side throughout his bail hearing.
Carl Pistorius was allegedly at the wheel of a car involved in a crash that left a woman motorcyclist dead in 2010.

Kim Kardashian shows off just a hint of a baby bump as she leaves a private residence bright and early Thursday morning (February 21) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The 32-year-old pregnant reality star recently took to her blog to clarify some comments that implied she was leaving her show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“As everyone knows, we are extremely proud of the show and all of us are staying on through at least season 10. The show remains to be my number 1 priority and it’s a big part of my life and I enjoy every moment of it,” Kim wrote on her blog. “I’m looking forward to the new season and beyond. The fact is that I have many goals that I still need to reach and accomplish and I (like so many of you) don’t know where my life will be in the next couple of years, but I’m looking forward to continuing this journey.”

In a new interview with Us Weekly, Kim admits that she does try to please the Gold Digger star in the way she dresses.

BLADE Runner Oscar Pistorius's dramatic bail hearing heard the Paralympic champ had applied for SIX firearms, including a semi-automatic assault rifle and THREE shotguns.
